Quick Steps To Replace Empty Ink Cartridge From Hp Deskjet 3720 In No Time

Excessive use of your printer can have an impact on how quickly your printer runs through its ink or toner cartridges. As such, there may come a time when one or more of your printer’s ink cartridges becomes depleted. You should be able to replace the empty cartridge in no time at all with the following quick-and-easy steps.

Step 1: Turn Your Hp Deskjet 3720 Off

First and foremost, you should always turn off your HP Deskjet 3720 before replacing an empty ink cartridge. Doing this will ensure that you don’t accidentally cause any damage to your printer or any of its internal components. 

If you having any diffulcty to turn off your printer, consult the user manual that came with it. Alternatively, you can locate the printer’s Power button and hold it down for a few seconds until you hear a short beep. This will turn the HP Deskjet 3720 off.

Step 2: Open The Cover And Shake The Cartridge

Next, you’ll open the cover on your printer, shake the cartridge that you plan on replacing, and look for the arrows on the cartridge. These arrows will tell you which way to tilt the cartridge in order to remove it from the printer. You should be able to see a small piece of paper or a plastic flag-like device covering the cartridge slot.

Step 3: Unlock The Empty Ink Cartridge

Now lift the two locking bars that hold the empty ink cartridge in place. Try to look at the empty cartridge and find the lever or button on the cartridge that’s colored blue. Now push in on the blue lever until you hear a click.

Step 4: Remove The Empty Ink Cartridge

Remove the empty ink cartridge by rotating the cartridge in a clockwise direction until it is removed from the printer. Then take the used cartridge and dispose of it properly. You should also be able to use the printer’s Toolbox to track the progress of your current cartridge’s usage.

 For example, if you have an HP Deskjet 3720 printer and you’re using the Black cartridge, you should be able to follow the below steps to view how much ink is left in the cartridge.

Step 5: Install The New Ink Cartridge

Now take the new cartridge and shake it five or six times to distribute the ink inside it. Then remove the blue tape from the bottom of the cartridge. This way You will be able to continue by lifting the locking bars on the empty ink cartridge slot and then slide the new cartridge into the slot.

Now you need to push the two locking bars down, close the cover, and check to make sure the printer has recognized the new cartridge. Afterward, select the print icon on your computer’s screen and then click on Properties. After this step click on the Printer menu and select the Use Printer Toolbox option.

Remember that, The black and tri-color cartridges go in different slots. The Tri-color cartridge goes into the left slot and the right slot is available for the black cartridge.

Now click on the HP Deskjet 3720 icon and then finally click on the Ink option. Furthermore, select the Show Ink Levels option and wait for the HP Deskjet 3720 to display the current ink levels for your printer’s ink cartridges. When everything is done, close the access door of the cartridge.

Align The Cartridges

Align ink Cartridges gives the best quality prints. In order to do this, all you need to do is to

  • Search the name of your printer in windows. When you see your printer’s name in the list, click on it. You will see an HP printer assistant will open.
  • After that, you need to click on Maintain your printer. As a result, the printer toolbox will open. Now click on the service device tab and click on the option that shows align Cartridges.
  • Now you will see the printer printing alignment pages which consist of rows of numbered boxes. You’ll notice each box has a different number and consists of pair of lines.
  • You need to find a box in row A from the alignment page. This box consists of two sets of overlap lines. Now you need to go into the printer software and chose that overlap line box from the A and drop down the list.
  • Now repeat every step for every row of boxes you see on the alignment page.
  • In the end, click done and discard the alignment sheet.

Things No To Do In Between Changing

During the change of an empty ink cartridge you need to avoid these few things:

  • Never try to remove the electrical strip of copper. 
  • Never try to touch the ink nozzles. 
  • Don’t try to touch copper-colored contracts
  • Don’t try to replace the protective tapes on the contracts.

Messing with these things can damage your printer’s performance.
